Orlando, FL September 2003 Dolly Parton is more than just a recording artist and film star. She is also a vastly successful business person.

Parton has a business empire that stretches across the country. And just like with her music, she is not afraid to expand her repertoire.

This summer, Dolly opened her fourth and largest Dolly Partons Dixie-Stampede Dinner & Show a $28 million investment in the heart of Orlandos tourism district. The attraction along Interstate 4 includes a 128,000 square-foot facility, housing a 30,000 square-foot arena. While other companies are holding back because of world events or the sluggish economy, Parton has won praise from Central Florida tourism officials for pressing ahead with her attraction.

Orlando remains a vibrant and popular travel destination, said William Peeper, president of the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Inc. We are proud to add Dolly Partons Dixie Stampede to our collection of first-rate activities for our millions of visitors.

The new Orlando Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show puts Parton in the midst of the most high profile tourism sector in the world. And she expects it to be a resounding success. After all, Dolly Parton has a record of success whether it is in the studio or in entertaining visitors and fans at her attractions across the south.

Orlando is Dolly Partons forth Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show. Her first dinner and show attraction opened in her home town of Pigeon Forge, Tenn. in 1988. Later Dolly opened similar attractions in Myrtle Beach, SC and Branson, MO.

Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show follows in the footsteps of Dollys most widely known attraction, Dollywood, the number one tourist attraction in Tennessee. Parton also owns Dollys Splash County, the biggest water park in Tennessee.

In addition to her attractions, Dolly owns a number of recording and entertainment businesses, including:

  • Inca-hoots: The home of Partons personal office, her archives, her publishing company, as well as a personal studio.
  • Velvet Apple: Velvet Apple produces more than 3,000 songs written by Dolly as well as other artists.
  • Southern Light: A television movie production company based in Los Angeles. The company screens scripts and works on miscellaneous movies in which Parton is involved, including those that she has created.
  • Sandollar: A partnership company in Los Angeles that produces movies and TV that do not necessarily involve Parton directly.
  • Dolly Parton Enterprises: The umbrella company that includes all of Dollys miscellaneous holdings, including personal properties.
  • Dolly Parton Productions: Dollys management company for operating businesses such as Dollywood, Dollys Splash Country and Dolly Partons Dixie Stampede. It is headquartered in Pigeon Forge, TN.
Dolly has been very careful in her business dealings to protect her wonderful name. She is a creator both in her music and in her business ventures and she demands the very best. That is what makes her so successful, said Business Manager Ted Miller.

I love to bring joy and laughter to everyone. It has always been my goal to exceed their expectations in everything I do. In this day and age, people expect a lot. When you do more to significantly entertain them, then they are really happy said Owner Dolly Parton.

One of the ways that Dolly gives back is through her Dolly Parton Foundation, which helps support The Imagination Library. The Imagination Library helps children learn to read by giving them a book each month, from the day they are born until they reach kindergarten age. Dolly originally established the program in her home of Sevier County Tennessee. The Imagination Library now has over 200 affiliate communities across the nation. Dixie Stampede helps sponsor many of these programs.

General admission prices to Dolly Partons Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show, Orlandos Most Fun Place to Eat, $43.99 for adults and $28.99 for children ages 3 to 11, plus sales tax includes the Carriage Room show, the main show and a fabulous four-course feast. The new $28 million, 128,000 square-foot facility is conveniently located in the heart of Central Floridas tourist sector, between Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando just off Interstate 4.
