The Associate of Applied Science degree program in Culinary Arts at The Art Institutes International Minnesota emphasizes hands-on training in basic food preparation skills through advanced culinary arts techniques. Program includes a foundation in health, safety and nutrition studies, as well as a solid business background in cost control, supervision of food service personnel and the management of a commercial kitchen.

The Art Institutes International Minnesota is now offering a bachelor of science degree in culinary arts management. The program moves beyond culinary arts with courses in the management and business skills needed for success in the culinary field. Students are exposed to advanced training in technology with industry-specific software and hardware, and learn the fundamentals of the industry from a global perspective. The program culminates with a dining event that utilizes not only the management and business courses students have taken, but also their culinary arts skills. The goal of the bachelor of science degree in culinary management is to provide a market-driven, competency-based education that integrates academics with hands-on learning and instruction. The practical culinary skills and management course in this program will provide a foundation for the graduate to advance in the culinary arts field, as well as preparation for entry-level management positions in the foodservice industry.

With some of the region's most creative and respected professionals in the culinary arts field, this award-winning faculty of working chefs brings a wealth of industry experience and expertise to the classroom. A board of culinary advisors lends guidance to curriculum development and graduate employment assistance.

Hospitality Management
The Hospitality Management program at The Art Institutes International Minnesota is an excellent choice for those who possess a passion for the culinary and hospitality industries. The program moves beyond management and business skills needed for success in the hospitality field.

Curriculum for the Bachelor of Science Hospitality Management program begins with an introduction to the variety and scope of positions within the hospitality industry. Students explore the various dimensions of hospitality, such as the role of culinary education and various career opportunities, before moving on to both practical and theoretical skills in the business arena.  Students are exposed to advanced training in technology with industry-specific software and hardware, and learn the fundamentals of the industry from a global perspective. Upon successful completion of the program, students enter the work force with a well-rounded portfolio that lays the foundation for a life-long career in the ever-growing hospitality industry.

At The Art Institutes International Minnesota, we understand that successful communication between all the players in the Hospitality Management business ­ in the kitchen and in the front of the house ­ from the front desk to housekeeping, keeps things running smoothly and contributes to the overall success of any hospitality venture.  Upon successful completion of the program, students are prepared to enter the work force with a well-rounded portfolio that lays the foundation for a career in the ever-growing hospitality industry. The length of the program is twelve (12), eleven (11) week quarters.
