UP OUR THIRD SUCCESSFUL YEAR

This coming November
marks the beginning of our fourth year among our hospitality industry colleagues,
clients, casual observers and truly industry dedicated professionals. Our
message always imparts a positive tone (sure there is an occasional negative
critque or a well-placed huh? when we survey some of the 15 industry segments),
but the message is targeted to educate and sometimes entertain. We hope
everyone, from this day forward, will take it upon themselves to keep your
own messages positive in nature. Stop the infectious �well business is
down so we�re offering everything {and} the kitchen sink, for a buck �n
a half -- till our business gets better.� Hospitality is about serving
and the friendly treatment of guests, or strangers -- acccording to Webster�s
Dictionary -- so it is time for everyone to �suck it up� and get back to
the basics. Over the past 4-5 weeks more than 200 industry press-news releases
somehow found their way to our inbox -- the theme of the majority of them;
�gosh �- we made some really great profits the past few years from your
business, we haven�t managed those profits well, our business is in the
tank now � please help us survive!� Know what? Economics 101 and Marketing
101 (that we mentioned last issue), usually show up at the dance together.
If you can�t write releases, or create a sales message with a positive
spin -- do everyone in our industry, and more importantly, those we �collectively
serve�, a really big favor - don�t write the message, period...
That�s all today, it
is an important enough topic to be the only subject and we hope you understand
