Jeremy M. Jacobs Elected Chairman of NHL Board of Governors
Buffalo, NY June 2007 Jeremy M. Jacobs, chairman and CEO of Delaware North Companies and the Boston Bruins, has been elected chairman of the National Hockey Leagues Board of Governors.

Jacobs was elected unanimously by his fellow owners during a Board of Governors meeting Wednesday evening in New York. He replaces Harley Hotchkiss of the Calgary Flames, who had served six consecutive two-year terms.

In his 32nd year as owner of the Boston Bruins, Jacobs has long been a member of the NHL boards executive committee. His influence includes playing a significant role in the development of the NHLs 2005 collective bargaining agreement, which helped ensure the viability of small-market teams such as the Buffalo Sabres.

It was Jacobs vision and determination that made the privately-financed TD Banknorth Garden in Boston a reality in 1995 as home arena for the Bruins and Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association.

His ownership of the Bruins continues a family tradition at the helm of a sports franchise. He owned the Cincinnati Royals basketball team in the 1960s, and his father owned both the minor league baseball and hockey Buffalo Bisons. In 2006, Jacobs was inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame.

Since 1968, Jacobs has led Delaware North Companies, creating one of the worlds leading hospitality and food service providers and one of the largest privately held companies in the United States. Locally, Delaware North operates food services at Ralph Wilson Stadium, HSBC Arena, and Niagara Falls State Park and operates Fairgrounds Gaming & Raceway in Hamburg.

Over the years one of the companys hallmarks is its dedication to the communities where it operates. Jacobs created the Boston Bruins Foundation in 2003, which formalized the Bruins multitude of community activities and brought his personal passion for childrens charities and sports together to create opportunities for underprivileged youth.

An active member of the Western New York community, Jacobs has received numerous honors and accolades for his contributions, both personal and professional. He was awarded Businessman of the Year honors as well as an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Canisius College, as well as Niagara Frontier Executive of the Year. A second honorary degree was awarded several years ago by his alma mater, the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he funded the establishment of the Jacobs Management Center that houses the School of Management. Jacobs maintains an active role as chairman of the University Council and was involved for many years with the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County in positions that included general campaign chairman.

A graduate of Harvard Business Schools Advanced Management Program, Jacobs also holds an undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Jacobs is also a generous supporter of academic endeavors. He is a benefactor of the University of Buffalo and has served as chairman, trustee and director of the UB Foundation, chairman of the Presidents Board of Visitors, and advisor to the School of Management in addition to serving as chairman of the University of Buffalo Council since 1998.

Mr. Jacobs is an avid golfer. He and his wife, Margaret, have six children and 18 grandchildren.
