Breeders� Stakes for the third consecutive year at Finger
Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (FLGR) on Monday (September 19). He earned
the victory over Empire Dreams by a narrow margin that was too close to
call without the photo finish.
The M. Anthony Ferraro-trainee
completed the one mile and one-sixteenth distance of the event for New
York-bred older horses in a final time of 1:45.02. He was guided to the
nose triumph by Pedro Rodriguez.
The 7-year-old gelding owned
by Langpap Stables continued his success at his home track where he was
voted FLGR Horse of the Year in 2014. He has now won 12 of his 15 FLGR
starts including four stakes triumphs. The $484,101 earner also had a victory
in the $160,800 New York Derby in 2012. Fox Rules scored his 15th career
win and paid $13.00, $4.80 and $2.20. Empire Dreams returned $3.70 and
$2.20 for second. Crackerjack Jones was third and paid $2.10.
New York-bred 2-year olds
will take center stage in the richest race on the 2016 stakes calendar.
The New York Breeders� Futurity is scheduled to be run on Saturday, October
1. The six furlong dash has an estimated purse of over $200,000.
