Dallas/Fort
Worth, TX April 2007 The Dallas/Fort Worth Area Tourism Council has
unveiled a new website and marketing campaign designed to reposition the
region as an accessible, easy-to-navigate, multi-choice destination for
travelers within a 500 mile radius of Dallas/Fort Worth and Beyond. The
new outreach campaign D/FW and Beyond! Where Will Your Story Begin?
targets travelers to the region through diverse themed activities throughout
the area.
Our research shows that families are planning more long weekend getaway vacations, said Jay Burress, chairman of the Council. Clearly, they are using the Internet to do the planning and logistics. The website makes it easy to decide the where and what of the trip. The
website offers visitors 12 free, pre-packaged tours to suit various vacation
goals and interests. Click on the Thrill Seeker button and you are shown
Texas Motor Speedway, Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, and Six Flags. For
the Shopaholics, the site lists NorthPark Center, The Parks at Arlington,
and Allen Premium Outlets. The All About Kids tour includes Dinosaur
Valley State Park, Fort Worth Museum of Science & History and Louis
Tussauds Palace of Wax & Ripleys Believe it or Not. The site is available
at www.visitdallas-fortworth.com.
Cities & Towns Listings The new site design is a result the Councils research, which shows that some of the Dallas/Fort Worth areas main strengths world-class shopping, a variety of outdoor adventures and opportunities, festivals and fairs, major-league sports, activities of interest for all ages, and proximity and easy access are important to travelers when deciding where to vacation. In addition to the website, the Council offers a free visitors guide that can be mailed to vacationers or is available in an on-line version. There is no doubt we have it all, and are continuing to build upon the richness and legacy of this areas storied past, said Burress. Now, we have to make sure the rest of the region knows our secret. We think even long-time residents will find something new in the area when they log on to the site or look through the free visitors guide. The
new campaign is a combined effort among all the members of the Dallas/Fort
Worth Area Tourism Council. The website (www.visitdallas-fortworth.com)
and re-branding encourages visitors to look at the region in a new light
and everything it offers as a great leisure destination.
