Washington, DC � February 2007  � The Board of Directors of the American Bus Association (ABA) met during at the association�s 2007 American Bus Marketplace (January 27 � February 1), and among other items, nominated and elected Doug Anderson, president, Anderson Coach and Travel as the new ABA Chairman, and Craig Lentzsch, President and CEO, Coach America, Vice Chairman.

Anderson is a long time ABA member and has served as vice-chairman for two year. He also has served as ABA Marketplace Chairman and been a prominent voice on the Board.

�I�m excited and honored to be serving the ABA membership in the coming years. ABA has always been a leader and innovator in the industry, with a focus on inclusiveness in the industry and reaching out to our members,� Anderson said.

Anderson follows Ron Eyre, president, Eyre Tour and Travel, who completed his two-year Chairman�s term this month.

�The past two years have been a wonderful experience for me. I�ve had the opportunity to work with some talented people who really, truly care about the association and our industry,� Eyre said.

The Board also nominated current Directors whose terms expired this year to serve an additional three-year term. They include:

  • Don DeVivo, DATTCO, New Britain, Conn.
  • Craig Lentzsch, Coach America, Dallas, Texas
  • Brian Souter, Stagecoach Group, Perth, Scotland
  • Jim Jalbert, C&J Trailways, Portsmouth, NH
  • Ron Moore, Burlington Trailways, West Burlington, Iowa
  • Chris Anzuoni, Plymouth & Brockton Street Railway Company
Members of ABA�s Board typically serve three-year terms. The Board also maintains a wide, diverse group, including both large and small operators, as well as tour and charter companies, fixed-route services, suppliers of services to the industry and travel members, allowing the membership organization to gain perspectives and ideas from a broad range of businesses in the industry.

The American Bus Association is the trade organization of the intercity bus industry with more than 1,000 motorcoach owner and tour company members in the United States and Canada. Its members operate charter, tour, regular route, airport express, special operations and contract services. Another 2,600 members are travel and tourism organizations and suppliers of bus products and services who work in partnership with the North American motorcoach industry.
