of Hospitality Management Chester, PA
Hospitality management education at Widener reaches far beyond the classroom. Widener understands that practical experience is a valuable part of developing professional knowledge, business sense, and human relations skills. Each student is, therefore, required to complete 1400 hours of paid industry experience prior to graduation. This experience consists of two 400 hour summer internships and a 600 hour cooperative education semester. During the cooperative education semester, students combine paid work experience of 37 to 40 hours per week with a one day on-campus leadership development seminar. This combination of excellent academic preparation along with a strong work experience component prepares Widener graduates for rewarding management careers as well as the ability to succeed in graduate school. The Widener Master of Science in Hospitality Management offers a choice of three areas of specialization, Marketing, Human Resource Management, or Hospitality Management. The program is designed to prepare students for career advancement in the areas of their specialization. Students considering future doctoral work will find that the thesis option of the program will give them a solid foundation for continued study. Widener University
