Fayetteville, NC January 2004 With over 5,000 hotel rooms at a variety of properties, the Fayetteville region offers lodging for every budget and taste. After spending a day on the links, spend the night and enjoy some wonderful dining and entertainment options.

Thanks to nearby Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base, the region offers a wonderful diversity which is evident in every aspect of the community, but it is most evident in its dining options. In Fayetteville, restaurants range from fine dining, to Japanese steakhouses, seafood, Greek, southern buffets, Hungarian cuisine, barbecue and more! Many of the major chains are located within Fayetteville, but locally-based restaurants offer some of the best dining options.

Fayetteville also boasts two of its own micro-breweries. The Mash Houses own brew, The Hoppy Hour IPA, an English Style India Pale Ale won silver honors at the 2001 Great American Beer Festival. In that year, it was the only North Carolina establishment to win an award! Huske Hardware Brewing Company, located in the heart of downtown Fayetteville, makes a number of its own brews, but is best known for the Airborne Ale, which was named in honor of the communitys military heritage. Both restaurants offer a modern American menu with a variety of cuisine choices.

For evening entertainment, the Cape Fear Regional Theatre, offers five productions and other special events annually. The Cameo Art Theatre, in downtown Fayetteville, was recently recognized in the Sundance Film Festivals program for its restoration to 1920s grandeur and its commitment to showing independent film. A number of community theater groups also offer productions throughout the year. Fayettevilles four sports teams: the Cape Fear FireAntz (hockey); Fayetteville Patriots (NBDL basketball); Cape Fear Wildcats (arena football) and the Fayetteville Swampdogs (baseball) can also offer a fun evening outing. Fayetteville has its own symphony that plays a number of performances each year. Methodist College and Fayetteville State University offer full theater and music programs that are open to the public.
