Legendary Rhythm And Blues Event Brings Top Blues Artists To St. Croix St. Croix Blues Festival Scheduled For February 11 www.usvitourism.vi United States Virgin Islands � January 2003 � St. Croix will provide the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise with a warm Caribbean welcome as the island�s famed St. Croix Blues Festival entertains passengers with an unbeatable selection of top-notch performers. Held in the historic waterfront town of Frederiksted on February 11, when the ship is in port, the festival will provide music fans continuous entertainment from 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. �This celebration is sure to have visitors dancing in the streets as Frederiksted comes alive with music, food and fun,� USVI Commissioner of Tourism Pamela C. Richards said. �I cannot think of a better way to showcase the island of St. Croix to these cruise ship passengers.� The town of Frederiksted will shine during the event as stores stay open late, local vendors sell their handmade wares and restaurants and talented chefs provide visitors a taste of local delicacies. Headliners for the one day celebration include: a local favorite, Stanley & The 10 Sleepless Knights; a good-humored road-house blues band, Saffire-The Uppity Blueswomen; an animated boogie blues band Lil� Ed & The Bel Airs; Jimmy Thackery & The Drivers; country blues band Tag Mahan; and R&B favorite Tyrone Davis. As it travels through the Caribbean, the seven-day Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise will provide its guests with non-stop blues music performed by some of the best artists in the industry.
