MSC Italian Cruises Scheduled to Dock in St. Croix
The MSC Italian Cruises� newest ship, the MSC Opera, has confirmed plans to include St. Croix in its itinerary of Caribbean ports of call. The new vessel, featuring state-of-the-art amenities such as a fully equipped gym and jogging track, two swimming pools and hot tubs, a virtual reality center and an onboard shopping gallery, is scheduled to visit St. Croix a total of seven times between December 2004 and March 2005. The Ann Abramson Pier has secured berthing from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. during each of the cruise ships� visits before continuing its tour through the Caribbean. Friends of Virgin Islands National Park Announces
First Annual Beach-to-Beach Power Swim on St. John
The Friends of Virgin Islands National Park will host its first annual Beach-to-Beach Power Swim on May 30, 2004, along the beautiful beaches and shoreline of St. John�s north shore. There also will be a separate �assisted-swimmer� category, in which swimmers are free to compete using snorkels, fins, exposure suits and similar accessories. The Friends of Virgin Islands National Park hope to broaden its base of support and fund important projects for the Virgin Islands National Park. Forbes.com Names The Buccaneer One of the Best Family Resorts
Forbes.com, the online newsletter of MSNBC, included The Buccaneer Resort on St. Croix in its annual list of best family resorts. Of the 11 hotels named, only two Caribbean properties received the award.
