Located in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, the School of Travel Industry Management at the University of Hawaii-Manoa is at the center of the world's fastest growing region for tourism and travel. The School is the leading professional institution in the development and dissemination of knowledge on all aspects of the travel industry in the Pacific including hospitality, tourism and transportation management. It is well known for its diverse and highly published faculty, who are involved in research and service in addition to their teaching activities. The School specializes in the Asia-Pacific region, however, its student body and faculty come from all over the world. The School also benefits from strong industry relations with a full range of travel, hospitality, accommodations, restaurant, tourism and transportation organizations involved directly with School activities and programs. The School is very student oriented with excellent academic advising services and multiple professional clubs and activities designed to enrich the educational experience of students.

The School of Travel Industry Management offers high quality, accredited degrees and professional educational programs including:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree with an emphasis in hospitality, tourism or transportation management and includes an extensive internship experience.
  • Master of Science Degree in travel industry management.
  • e-TIM Graduate Certificate Program (offered entirely on-line)
  • Executive Development Institute for Tourism (EDIT)
  • Hawaii International Hotel Institute (HIHI)
The School is accredited through 2007 by the ACPHA (Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration.) The School has also earned the TedQual (Tourism Education Quality) certificate designation by the WTO (World Tourism Organization).
