The Rosen College of Hospitality Management�s new home opened in January 2004 in Orlando, Florida. This unique new branch campus for the University of Central Florida is located in the heart of the International Drive tourist district in southwest Orange County. The Rosen College, currently home to over 1000 undergraduate majors, 75 graduate students and 21 full-time faculty members is the fastest growing academic program in UCF history.

The two-story, 150,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style structure will soon be joined by a four hundred room student housing complex, featuring private bedrooms and a resort style pool.

Mr. Harris Rosen has given $18.2 million to purchase the site and build the facility with dollar-for-dollar matching from the State of Florida. To date additional gifts and pledges of support have been received from the Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Darden Restaurant Foundation, Disney, Universal Studios Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando, ARDA (American Resort Development Association), CFHLA (Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association), and HFTP (Hospitality Finance and Technology Professionals).

The campus is just minutes from the largest learning laboratory in the world for hospitality and tourism studies. Students have internship opportunities in the local industry while they learn in state-of-the-art computer and culinary laboratories, 22 classrooms, a Beverage Management Center, 400-seat auditorium, and a focused library/media center. A bookstore, cafeteria and coffee bar, faculty and staff offices, Hall of Fame Atrium, student activities area, and an Executive Education Center are also included in the facility. Notable design features include two courtyards, a fountain plaza, a gazebo and gardens, and 1,000 parking spaces.

In addition to offering undergraduate courses and graduate studies in Hospitality Management to 1,000 students on seven tracks in the field, this satellite campus of the University of Central Florida offers a full range of general education courses. Currently hospitality management tracks are offered in: Food Service and Restaurant Operations; Lodging; Convention/Conference Management; Vacation Ownership Resort Management; Theme Park and Attraction Management; Tourism; and Hospitality Financial Management and Technology.

Orlando is the premier tourist center in the world with nearly every major aspect of the hospitality industry to be found here. It is the destination for over 42 million visitors each year with over 120,000 hotel rooms, 4,000 restaurants, 75 theme parks and countless other attractions.

Founded in 1963, the University of Central Florida (UCF) is a comprehensive metropolitan university with its main campus located in Orlando, Florida. UCF offers a broad range of teaching, research, and service programs that promote the economic development and quality of life in central Florida and the state.
