USA (TSUSA) has announced its plans for the upcoming 22nd annual Travel
South SHOWCASE to be held in Memphis, Tennessee, February 12-16, 2005.
This year�s conference is expected to attract more than 700 highly qualified
Travel Buyers, Travel Suppliers, and Travel Service Providers who market
and sell travel into the South. SHOWCASE 2005 will incorporate a new emphasis
on Regional Themed Itineraries, Product Education, and Buyer Recruitment.

are looking forward to hosting these influential travel industry professionals
in Memphis,� said Susan Whitaker, Commissioner of the Tennessee Department
of Tourist Development. �We know that they will be excited to promote southern
travel products after experiencing our delightful hospitality accompanied
by great food and fabulous music. We have so much to offer in Tennessee
and throughout the South and SHOWCASE gives us an opportunity to highlight
our diverse product,� Whitaker added.
A
new feature of the appointment based SHOWCASE is Product Education for
the attendees based on regional themes that weave the 12 Travel South States
together into a dynamic travel experience. The themes include Arts, Crafts,
& Culture; Education and Eco-tourism; Food, Wine, Music and Shopping;
History & Heritage; Natural and Scenic Beauty; Sports, Adventure, Gaming
& Cruising. Seminars as well as meal functions will highlight these
themes to provide much needed new product ideas for tour operators.
Another
new opportunity, Connections Café, is designed to give Travel Service
Providers, such as travel media and online services, exposure to the industry
in a very relaxed atmosphere complete with snacks and beverages. Travel
South USA is currently accepting sponsorship applications for this and
various other events during SHOWCASE.
