3rd Annual Stone Mountain Park Indian Festival and Pow Wow

Stone Mountain Park, GA � October 2002 � Stone Mountain Park and Rolling Thunder Enterprises bring the 3rd Annual Indian Festival and Pow Wow to the park for guests to experience the excitement and diversity of the American Indian Culture. On November 7-10, Stone Mountain Park brings history to life with Native American displays of dance, song, demonstrations, foods and arts & crafts.

The festival offers the best in cultural education and entertainment for all ages. Guests can dance with the multi-tribal authentic Native Americans and experience storytelling and drum competitions. The living Indian village will include demonstrations of fire building, basket weaving, hide tanning, pottery making, flint napping and blow guns. Warriors on horseback will do battle to the Shield Dance and pay tribute to all American veterans of war. Experience American Indian cuisine including frybread, buffalo burgers, roasted corn and other delicious traditional foods.

One of America�s most notable Native artists, Bill Miller will be in concert Saturday, November 9 at 7:00 PM. Miller is a singer and song writer who has been influenced as much by the music of Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and Neil Young as by that of the Mohican heritage.

The Festival runs November 7-10. Hours on Thursday & Friday are from 9:00 AM � 2:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 AM � 9:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM � 5:00 PM. Festival admission is included with the One Day All Attractions Pass (Adults $19, Children 3-11- $15.) Vehicle entry to the Park is $7.00 for one-day permit or $30 for annual permit.
