Los
Angeles, CA August 2011 At last years TEAMS
Conference in Charlotte, we promised to shake things up a bit for TEAMS
11. Im pleased to share some of the exciting enhancements well be
unveiling this year at TEAMS 11, October 36, in Las Vegas. These changes
are the result of the feedback weve received from past attendees combined
with our own efforts to keep the TEAMS Conference at the leading edge of
the sports-event industry.
| One of the biggest changes involves the TEAMS Expo schedule and the fact that for the first time ever, we will be holding our trademark Mating Session right in the expo hall. This change is intended to add value for both the sports-event organizers who are featured at the Mating Session as well as the exhibitors who are interested in scheduling meeting times with them. We are also shortening the pre-scheduled appointment sessions to 10 minutes each, thereby allowing more open time on the trade-show floor without decreasing the total number of appointments that are possible during TEAMS. The hours for the TEAMS Expo will change as well. Exhibitor move-in will occur on Tuesday, October 4, from 8 a.m.3 p.m. The TEAMS Expo will be open Wednesday, October 5, from 9 a.m.2:30 p.m. Mating Session introductions, in which 20 different sports organizations take the stage for three minutes each, will occur from 9 a.m.10 a.m. and on-site appointment setting will continue through 10:30 a.m. The pre-scheduled appointment sessions will occur from 10:30 a.m. 2:30 p.m., with a half-hour break from appointment sessions at noon. On Thursday, October 6, the TEAMS Expo will be open from 12:30 p.m.5 p.m., with pre-scheduled appointment sessions occurring from 1 p.m. 5 p.m., with a half hour-break from appointment sessions at 3 p.m. Exhibitor tear-down will occur between 5 p.m. 6:30 p.m. and well again be offering the very popular Event Organizer Shipping Center for one hour at the conclusion of the expo. On the educational front, well be offering a number of general sessions beginning with a series of State of the Industry reports, which will update attendees on each of the segments of importance to the sports-event industry on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 4. Other general sessions will provide insights into how communities are successfully positioning themselves as sports-friendly and what the U.S. can do to increase its viability as a host for international sporting events. We will also be introducing a new format for our concurrent sessions this year. On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 5, were staging the first-ever TEAMS Unconference, which will allow attendees with similar interests to meet with each other. Meeting space will be made available for attendees who wish to gather in small groups to discuss their most pressing concerns. This experiment in conference democratization is intended to make sure that any topic thats of concern to two or more people will receive an airing at TEAMS 11. More
details on the schedule for TEAMS 11 are available at TEAMSconference.com.
