The Travel and Tourism program at St. Cloud State University is an applied career-oriented major. Housed in the Department of Geography, the Travel and Tourism program emphasizes the uniqueness of place, the processes and systems that connect destinations, and facilities and industries that cater to the needs of traveler. The 45-credit BA major and 24-credit minor are designed to prepare students for careers in one of the world's fasted growing industries. Our graduates find employment for companies and corporations in Minnesota, throughout the United States and abroad in such areas as travel planning, accommodations, airlines, attractions/events management, corporate/incentive travel, cruise lines, government, tour operations, automobile rental and many more. The program also sponsors a Travel and Tourism Club. The club organizes several trips to popular tourist destinations each semester, thus combining fun and relaxation with increased understanding of this exciting field of study. Students are also encouraged to pursue internship opportunities further enhancing their networking opportunities with industry professionals and future employers. St. Cloud State University is a mid-sized, public university located 70 miles northwest of the Twin Cities along the banks of the Mississippi River.
