Hospitality And Tourism Programs Pittsburgh, PA
The educational philosophy of the Hospitality and Tourism Management program at Robert Morris centers on providing the kind of education today that business leaders of tomorrow will need. The program is unique in that it allows students to choose a concentration in either Hospitality or Tourism and offers students an opportunity to study in Europe, Asia, Australia or South American. With their abilities, interests, and career goals in mind, faculty advisors and an industry board of visitors provide guidance to students in selecting the most appropriate elective courses and externship sites. An integral part of the program is its required externships in which students gain practical experience by working in international and national industry settings. Graduates of the program are prepared to successfully compete for international and national management positions in the lodging (hotel, motel, resort, convention centers), food and beverage (restaurant, fast-food, industrial food service), and tourism (cruise ships, airlines, tours, attractions, casino, club) segments. The Hospitality and Tourism Program works in close relationship with its regional business community, because of Robert Morris's proximity to Pittsburgh and the international airport. Graduates that have completed a Hospitality and Tourism degree, will find management positions in a dynamic and progressive industry. Lastly, students are also well prepared for graduate school.
