The Department of Hospitality
and Tourism Management (HTM) has an enrollment of 550 students and is ranked
#1 among undergraduate hospitality programs in the United States. The HTM
program prepares undergraduate students for a professional future in the
field of hospitality and tourism by offering, along with core requirements,
a concentration in Foodservice, Lodging, and Tourism Management. Upon completion
of the departmental requirements in the field of their choice, students
will receive a Bachelor of Science degree.

The HTM Career Center is committed
to providing every opportunity possible for students to pursue their careers
after graduating as well as internships to enhance their education as well
as maintain a 99% placement rate for graduating seniors.

The undergraduate program was
recently ranked #1 in a study published in the Journal of Hospitality and
Tourism Education. It is accredited through the Accreditation Commission
for Programs in Hospitality Administration.
The graduate program is limited
to 60 students. It is recognized as one of the three leading graduate education
and research programs in the U.S. All students develop theses, and are
encouraged to develop individualized areas of expertise. Graduate students
should expect to work closely with the faculty in preparation for leadership
positions in industry and academic careers.
The HTM department also has
three world-class research Centers: the Avery Foodservice Research Center,
The Purdue Tourism & Hospitality Research Center, and the Center for
the Study of Lodging Operations. The Centers are designed to make strong
research contributions to the hospitality and tourism industry, as well
as be a training ground for those enrolled in the graduate program who
want a career doing research in the hospitality and tourism industry.
