PTM - FYI News and Insight for March/April 2005
PTM - FYI News and Insight for March/April 2005
Downers Grove, IL March 2005 Welcome to the March edition of FYI, brought to you by Leisure Group Travel, TRAVELtips, Leisure Travel Directory, Prep Traveler and Goexperience.com.

Beware of the Ides of March, at least if youre part of our magazine production team! Were hard at work producing Aprils Leisure Group Travel, which Im delighted to say will be our largest ever, eclipsing even Decembers blockbuster edition.

Things are hopping here at PTM! On the heels of our April edition we debut Prep Traveler in May, an exciting new publication for youth performance and sports travel groups - theres nothing else like it! In June, well unveil a unique redesign of Leisure Group Travel. Our flagship publication has been under the knife for the past six months, undergoing both cosmetic and editorial enhancements that promise to deliver even better resources to our readership, and results to our advertisers.

PTM Featured in Wall Street Journal
The February 25th edition of the Wall Street Journal featured and article about the development of the religious travel market, going from a small niche market to mainstream. Churches are now using group travel to build fellowship and community, and this market has developed far beyond traditional pilgrimages.

Large tour companies like Globus are now creating specific divisions for religious travel groups, and as we have reported in FYI (and were quoted in the article) the number of religious organizations running organized group travel has steadily increased, and they make up an increasingly higher percentage of our subscriber base.

2005 Annual Gaming Directory - Closes next week!
Our 2005 annual Gaming Directory (published in May) will be used by group planners as they seek group- friendly casinos. It reaches the 27,000 readers of Leisure Group Travel and TRAVELtips, plus over 7,000 visitors use the online directory each month to find group-friendly suppliers.

If your casino is looking to increase your leisure group business, this is the best opportunity of the year to reach planners. Advertising rates start at $725, Enhanced Directory Listings are just $95 annually. Contact your sales representative today, or click on the link below to request more information. Contact us today!

Color and Graphics in Proposals By Tom Sant
One of the mottos Ive always liked is one I heard at Procter & Gamble: The package is part of the product. So how well packaged is your sales message?

There are several factors that contribute to a good package: page layout, legibility of the font, and use of white space. But, two of the more important tools you can use are color and graphics.

Research indicates that using color and graphics can increase the readers interest, enhance retention, and improve comprehension. In fact, the results showed the following impact from color:

  • Increases comprehension up to 73%
  • Increases retention and recall 55% to 78%
  • Increases motivation up to 80%
  • Sells products and ideas 55% to 85% more effectively
Learn how to better enhance your proposals with graphics.

Print + Web = Better Results
Since we debuted our online editions of print magazines late last year theyve been a hit with readers.

Each article, column and regional update is archived online the magazine website, in EXACTLY the same fashion as it appeared in print. That means, as an advertiser, your marketing message is being seen online in the same EXACT format as the print edition.

For example, in the last 30 days, Februarys edition of Leisure Group Travel has received over 1,100 page views from group travel organizers, and feature articles have been downloaded 165 times.

We are the only publisher thats delivering real content in print and online, extending your brand image, shelf life and ultimately delivering more groups to your doorstep. Branding experts confirm theres no better way to establish your identity than continuity of message across multiple platforms.

Watch for further developments as we employ content licensing agreements with partner travel websites. Check out Leisure Group Travels online edition.
