New National Parks Scrapbook Launched
Online Scrapbook Allows People To Share National Park Memories, Photos
|
Washington, DC September 2002 Vacationers can now post their national park photos and memories in the new National Parks Scrapbook, created by Americans for National Parks at americansfornationalparks.org/scrapbook, to inspire all of us to care for these awe-inspiring places.
National Parks Conservation Association
Americans for National Parks is a coalition working with Congress and the administration to address the funding needs of the parks. The coalition will share the entries posted in the National Parks Scrapbook with Members of Congress and the president as evidence of public concern and affection for the national parks and as reason to protect them.

The national parks showcase Americas scenic beauty, natural wonders, and historical and cultural treasures. Unfortunately, the parks are not picture-perfect. Plant and wildlife species are disappearing. Important museum artifacts are not being preserved. Irreplaceable historic structures are crumbling. The parks do not have enough money to protect all the majesty they contain.

We need everyone's support, Americans for National Parks Campaign Director Jennifer Coken said, because there's just too much to lose.
