York, NY � November 2004 � The New York Times announced that Amtrak, Carnival
Cruise Lines and Islands of the Bahamas have signed on as supporting sponsors
of the upcoming New York Times
Travel Show, and that Washington, D.C. Convention and Tourism Corporation
will be a contributing sponsor of the show. The second annual travel trade
and consumer show will be held March 4-6, 2005, at the Jacob K. Javits
Convention Center in New York City. American Express will return as presenting
sponsor for the 2005 show.

The
New York Times Travel Show 2005 will be held in two halls designed to accommodate
the growing list of nearly 500 exhibitors. One hall will feature spas,
cruises and regions of the world including Africa, Asia, Australia/South
Pacific, the Caribbean, Europe, Mexico/Central America and South America.
The second hall will be devoted to North America and to active trips and
destinations, promoting a wide range of outdoor sports, including backpacking,
biking, camping, climbing, fishing, golf, kayaking, scuba diving and snorkeling,
whitewater rafting and winter sports.
Exhibitors
at the show will include American Express Vacations, Aruba Tourist Authority,
Funjet Vacations, Grand Expeditions, Japan National Tourist Office, Tourism
Quebec, German National Tourist Office and Relais and Chateaux.
To
kick off the weekend on Friday March 4, The Times will present a series
of trade-related seminars for industry leaders. Throughout the weekend,
attendees will enjoy two days of exclusive travel deals, family entertainment
and informative travel seminars by experts such as travel authors Arthur
Frommer and Rick Steves, NY1 travel reporter Val D�Elia and radio personality
Stephanie Abrams.
As
part of The Travel Show, The New York Times and TCS Expeditions are offering
an opportunity for travel enthusiasts to win a 24-day, private jet vacation
for two to some of the most exotic and ancient places in the world. Entry

Deadline for entry submissions is Feb. 28, 2005. The prize will be awarded
at The New York Times Travel Show on Saturday, March 5, 2005.

of Tourism to Africa (APTA), Africa Travel Association (ATA), Adventure
Travel Trade Association (ATTA), Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA), Cruise
Lines Industry Association (CLIA), Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), Caribbean
Tourism Organization (CTO) and Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).
Exhibitor
