European Travel Network Delivers Name Your Price Airfares;
Expands Agent Sales Opportunities with Client Leads and PromotionsFor Immediate Release
Coral Gables, Fla., June 2, 1999: European Travel Network, a non-profit organization promoting worldwide access to discounted flights and other travel arrangements, today announced Name Your Price, a new travel booking service for cost-conscience travelers. Name Your Price allows anyone to state the price they are willing to pay for airline tickets. The bid is then routed to registered European Travel Network (ETN) travel agents that specialize in the destination and have negotiated airfares for the routing. ETN (https://www.etntravel.com) works with 750 agencies in 144 countries.
We know that cost is an important issue for many travelers and ETN has the network to put travelers in touch with agencies that can provide significant discounts, said Robert Hubbard, vice president of international marketing for European Travel Network. ETN is taking the concept of the Internet auction one step further by including the travel agent in the distribution. Name Your Price is a winning solution for everyone.
The easy-to-complete bid forms (https://www.etntravel.com/nameyourprice/) include sections on travel information, passenger information and credit card information. Each section must be fully completed before the bid can be processed. The bid will be circulated and the participating agencies will accept or reject the bid for the flights within four business hours for domestic US flights and within one day for international flights. Travelers that place bids for air travel will be notified by email or phone if the bid is accepted and notified by email if the bid is rejected.
Tickets will be non-refundable, non-exchangeable and non-transferable. Accepted bids will then be charged to the credit card that was included with the bid information and the tickets will be issued and sent. There will be a $50.00USD charge for bids that travelers cancel before the tickets are issued and travelers could be charged up to 100% of the ticket value if the tickets are canceled after being issued.
