Miami Travelers to Get New Airport Retail Shops
Bethesda, MD � September 2006 � HMSHost Corporation, one of world�s leading providers of retail, food and beverage concessions to the travel industry, and its Miami-based partners, Master Concessionaire, LLC, were recently awarded a contract to develop new retail shops at Miami International Airport. The eight-year, $97 million contract expands HMSHost�s presence at Miami International. In the state of Florida, HMSHost operates in seven airports and will invest $56 million in their award-winning retail and food and beverage concessions programs this year.

The distinctive retail concepts to be developed by HMSHost and Master Concessionaire, LLC as Miami Retail Partners include:

  • Little Havana To Go � Locally owned and operated by Ms. Carol Ann Taylor, and featuring Cuban memorabilia and Little Havana souvenirs, Little Havana To Go delivers an aromatic, artistic, and audio retail journey into the past, taking customers on a one of a kind cultural adventure.
  • Airport Wireless/Palm One � Owned and operated by Florida resident Iris Goldschmidt, this proven winner provides the tech, tools and toys demanded by today�s and tomorrow�s sophisticated travelers.
  • Island Styles� Featuring an extensive selection of Tommy Bahama casual clothing for men and women as well as spa quality skin care items and high fashion footwear, Island Styles is perfect for the sophisticated, relaxing lifestyle of Miami.
  • Starbucks/Miami News Connection � Starbucks, the most sought-after coffee in airports worldwide, joins the stylistic Miami News Connection to form a soothing getaway. This exciting café promises to be a place where global travelers get their world-famous Starbucks® coffee while reading the latest international news or hot Miami �Mags.�

Other planned retail facilities include: Sporting Eyes, Sweet Factory, Miami News Express, Coconut Grove News, Tropical News, and Miami News. Construction is scheduled to begin early next year.
