Asia's leading university level provider of tourism and hotel education. Established in 1979, the School currently has 41 full time faculty and approximately 1,000 students. The School offers both undergraduate programs (Higher Diploma and Bachelor's) and graduate programs (Master of Science, Master of Philosophy and  Doctor of Philosophy).

The School's vision is to become recognised internationally as one of the top hotel and tourism schools in the world. It is our vision to achieve this status by concentrating on our foundation level work as providers of high quality tertiary education awards in our specialised field and by supporting the teaching and learning activities of those awards by high quality research and consultancy endeavours.

Hong Kong Polytechnic University's School (HTM) faculty are internationally recognised for their research and consultancies and four of the international scholarly journals in the field of hospitality and tourism (Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing, and Journal of Teaching in Travel & Tourism) are edited from the School. Furthermore, the faculty members are represented widely on the editorial boards of more than 25 leading journals in its field, such as the Annals of Tourism Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Travel Research, Tourism Management, and Annual Trends in China Hotel and Tourism Development.
