WASHINGTON,
D.C., March 2001 � National Trust Historic Hotels of America, a collection
of 167 historically significant hotels, recently announced its 2001 board
of advisors. Paul J. Sacco, managing director at Omni Netherland Plaza
in Cincinnati, was named chairman of the advisory board. Sacco has served
on the National Trust Historic Hotels board of advisors since 1997.
Manou Mobedshahi, proprietor
of the Hyatt Sainte Claire in San Jose, Calif., was named vice chairman.
In addition to advising the National Trust Historic Hotels of America staff
on key issues and mapping the future goals of the organization, the role
of the advisory board is to foster communication among the organization's
diverse membership.
National Trust Historic Hotels of America is a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. NTHHA has identified 167 quality hotels that have faithfully maintained their historic architecture and ambience. To be selected for this prestigious program, a hotel must be at least 50 years old, listed or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places or recognized locally as having historic significance. Rooms at any of the member hotels can be reserved by calling 800-678-8946 or a travel agent.
