What's Hot For Family Vacations This Season?
|
Tampa, FL May 2002 According to FamilyTravelFiles.com co-founder Nancy Nelson-Duac, the site's popular interactive Ask Mom? e-mail box reveals a different mentality when it comes to what kind of vacation families are looking for in 2002. Most often used words are: safe, quiet, friendly and fun, versus a year ago, when the most common inquiries focused on: fun, bargain and getaway.

In 2001, families wanted most to know about cruises, cabins and beaches. Now the most frequently asked questions are: What are the best places for a family reunion? What kinds of family vacation packages are available? Where can we go with 'his, mine and our' kids whose ages span a wide range?

We have 1,000 pages of ideas to answer those questions and more, said Nelson-Duac, There are many truly unique family vacation experiences available.

The top ten most popular destinations, based on families who visited the family site in the first quarter of 2002, are, in order of rank: Florida, Canada, Virginia, Caribbean, England, Cruises, California, Mexico, Tennessee, and New York.

Site traffic confirms earlier predictions made by the international research firm Yesawich, Pepperdine and Brown, which indicated that travel in 2002 would be a family affair as Americans reflect on what is really important to their lives both personally and professionally.

FamilyTravelFiles.com is dedicated to helping families plan vacations. The colorful, user-friendly site has information about all popular destinations along with novel vacation ideas. The site is packed with tips about family travel, real people reviews of a variety of travel-related topics, and daily updates on global destinations, offbeat current events, bargains, and holiday and adventure travel.
