This years festival marks the farewell season of Dollywoods Babes in Toyland, the parks $1.6 million award-winning stage production which premiered in 2006. In an adaptation of the family classic created especially for Dollywood, the show unfolds in a small East Tennessee village on Christmas Eve and follows Alan and Jane on an incredible adventure through Toyland. The duo encounters a cast of characters, including Simple Simon, Contrary Mary and Miss Muffett as well as the dastardly Mr. Barnaby and his scheming henchmen Roderigo and Gonzorgo, both determined to keep the children from discovering Toylands greatest mysteries. Along the way, the children witness amazing sights brought to life with the aid of innovative puppetry, amazing acrobats and spectacular scenery. The story culminates with the show-stopping march of the 21 toy soldiers, including 16 fully animated soldiers specially designed and created for the production and led by the 15-foot-tall General.

It tickles me that so many people have enjoyed Dollywoods Babes in Toyland, and its become a holiday tradition for so many families, Parton added. But you know me; I want to keep offering folks bigger and better shows!

Dollywoods restaurants offer holiday dining at its finest with special buffets and menu offerings to celebrate the season. Diners at Aunt Grannys restaurant are joined by the Coca-Cola® Santa each operating day through Dec. 23. In addition to oven-roasted turkey, pulled ham, cornbread dressing and other familiar favorites, new items offered only during Smoky Mountain Christmas include the Spotlight Bakerys 25-pound apple pies in four holiday flavorscranberry walnut, brown sugar pecan, white chocolate, and oatmeal and cranberry apple pieseach available by the slice, as well. Granny Ogles Ham n Beans serves creamy vegetable soup in a bread bowl while the Backstage Restaurant tempts the taste buds with grilled pork chops with orange cranberry glaze as well as baked ham glazed with apple and honey mustard sauce. Crossroad Funnel Cakes gets into the Christmas spirit with a chocolate covered cherry confection topped with hot fudge, vanilla glaze and cherries.
