to Space Exploration
Kennedy
Space Center, FL May 2009 Paramount Pictures Star Trek, directed by
J.J. Abrams, opened at Kennedy
Space Center Visitor Complex (KSCVC), home to a five-and-a-half story
tall IMAX® Theater, on Thursday, May 7, 2009. The new Star Trek movie,
based on the American science fiction entertainment series, has been digitally
re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience®.
Audiences are virtually transported to experience the non-stop action and
mind-blowing visual effects in a larger-than-life way that only IMAX can
deliver.
The
greatest adventure of all time begins with Star Trek, the incredible story
of a young crews maiden voyage onboard the most advanced starship ever
created: the U.S.S. Enterprise. On a journey filled with action, comedy
and cosmic peril, the new recruits must find a way to stop an evil being
whose mission of vengeance threatens all of mankind.
The
fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals. One, James T. Kirk
(Chris Pine), is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy. The other,
Spock (Zachary Quinto), was raised in a logic-based society that rejects
all emotion. As fiery instinct clashes with calm reason, their unlikely
but powerful partnership is the only thing capable of leading their crew
through unimaginable danger, boldly going where no one has gone before!
Star
Trek will be shown three times a day at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex
