Breeze Coastal Wine Tour, a premier wine and culinary weekend, plans
its next stop May 19-21, 2006 in Orange Beach, Alabama. The tour is one
of several events hosted by Southern Breeze Magazine, a publication exploring,
covering and celebrating the �good life� on the Gulf Coast.

Beach has hosted our tour event three years in a row allowing tour guests
to realize not only the beauty of its environment but the on-going support
of this community,� said Gary Ellis, publisher of Southern Breeze. �Our
proud host community is assisting us in making this a memorable event for
Orange Beach and the Gulf Coast in general.�
The
Orange Beach event kicks off Friday evening, May 19 from 7-10 p.m. with
the Winemaker Dinners taking place at the Gulf Coast Culinary Institute.
At the Winemaker Dinners, top regional chefs prepare gourmet dishes while
renowned winemakers pair appropriate wines to compliment the cuisine. Executive
Chefs Philippe Parola and Tim Creehan will be paired with winemakers, Mac
McDonald of Vision Cellars and Cathy Preston-Mouncer of Preston Premium
Wines to make for a classic event.
On
Saturday, May 20, the Grand Wine Tasting, located at the Orange Beach Waterfront
Park, will begin at 1 p.m. The Grand Wine Tasting will have more than 200
boutique wines available for tasting while complimentary seminars will
include engaging cooking demonstrations and discussions on current trends
in the wine industry. Guests can look forward to Michael Bryan, Executive
Director of the Atlanta Wine School, to host informative seminars on the
subject of deciphering the language of wine. Chefs Philippe Parola and
Matt Smith will inspire and entertain crowds with their original gourmet
food preparations and demonstrations.
The
Walkabout Brunch on Sunday, May 21 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Orange
Beach Waterfront Park, allow area restaurants to serve up their specialty
dishes as champagnes and sparkling white wines are provided for tasting
and paired with each dish. Guests will be able to sample fresh local seafood,
regional favorites, and mouth-watering desserts from Alabama Gulf Coast�s
beautiful back bays.
Tour
goers can also enjoy featured artist and fabric designer Marti Schmidt
- the tour�s official artist since 2004. She will be on hand displaying
her combination of ancient art forms with modern impressionism.
Tickets
to the Winemaker Dinners must be purchased in advance for $125 per person.
The Grand Wine Tasting tickets are $45 in advance and $55 the day of the
event. The Walkabout Brunch tickets are $35 in advance and $45 day of the
event. There are Connoisseur Packages available for $225 that allows you
