Choice Hotels Canada Makes Executive Appointment
Toronto, ON September 2006 The Board of Directors of Choice Hotels Canada has announced the appointment of Tim Oldfield to the newly formed leadership position, Managing Director of Franchisee Performance. Oldfield was formerly Senior Director of Sales and Marketing.
|
The appointment is part of a new vision for the future leadership structure of Choice Hotels Canada, designed to maximize support to franchisees, leverage the strength of the companys shareholders, ensure the long-term competitive position of the Choice brands in Canada, and more aggressively grow the company. As part of the restructuring, a second new leadership position will be created, with the title Managing Director of Franchise Growth and Administration. An external executive search is underway. Both positions will report directly to the board.

In announcing Oldfields promotion, the board stated: Tim has done an excellent job since joining Choice Hotels Canada in July 2005. He has been a key part of the organizations senior team, and played an active role in its strategic direction. In his new role and in bringing together the various field service, marketing and sales programs under a single structure, we are confident that Choice Hotels Canada will deliver even greater levels of franchisee performance and guest satisfaction.

In his new role, Oldfield will have responsibility for delivering all programs and services that directly impact franchisees and he will also serve as the main point of contact and key liaison to industry associations in Canada.
