Kure
Beach, NC October 2006 Leave your hectic world behind and head to the
Cape Fear Coast to enjoy great food and music on Saturday, October 14 and
Sunday, October 15 during the 13th Annual Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues
and Jazz Festival. Let the music, coastal cuisine, natural beauty, and
salt air transport you into another dimensioninto a world where your cares
and stresses are left behind. Its a world where the weather is warmer,
the people are friendlier, the food is tastier, and the music is jazzier
and bluesy-er.

The
event, a huge two-day festival, is being headlined by The Fabulous Thunderbirds.
For the past 30 years, The Fabulous Thunderbirds have been the quintessential
American band. The groups distinctive and powerful sound, influenced by
a diversity of musical styles, manifested itself into a unique musical
hybrid via such barnburners as Tuff Enuff and Wrap It Up. Co-founder
Kim Wilson, the sole original member, still spearheads the group.
The
festival also features 16 other amazing acts, including blues bands Big
Bertha, Tommy B & the Stingers, Mario & the Shakers, as well as
jazz bands Charlie & Rose Lucas, the Laura McFayden Trio, Niks Orchette,
and others. A full performance schedule is available online at www.seafoodbluesandjazz.com.
Attendees
can enjoy great seafood, arts & crafts vendors, and the best in jazz
and blues, while experiencing all that Pleasure Islands Carolina and Kure
Beaches have to offer. The festivals Kidz Fantazy Zone provides hours
of fun for families.
