Wilmington,
NC September 2010 Athletes of all
skill levels will find that Wilmington
and North Carolina's Cape Fear Coast is an ideal fall destination.
Exciting sports events take place nearly every weekend from September through
November. From triathlons to fishing tournaments to 5k races and Stand-Up
Paddle competitions, there's something for every sports enthusiast. Two
of the Southeast's largest events, the Wilmington
Family YMCA Triathlon (September 25) and the highly acclaimed PPD
Beach2Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon (November 13) take place in
the fall when the temperatures are mild, the beaches and roads are less
crowded, and hotel rates are more affordable. Following is a roundup of
more than a dozen sports events. With all this activity it's easy to see
why Wilmington & NC's Cape Fear Coast is a North
Carolina Fit Community and ranks on RelocateAmerica.com's Top 10 Recreation
Cities list (2010).
