New Group Forms Barrie Snow Belt
|
Barrie, Ontario November 2003 Several Barrie area ski resorts have initiated a new group, Barrie Snow Belt, to promote the winter sports of alpine & nordic skiing, snow boarding, snow tubing and snow shoeing in the traditional snow belt area.

Snow Valley, Mount St. Louis - Moonstone, Horseshoe Valley Resort, and Hardwood Hills collectively attract more than 850,000 visits each year to the snow belt region in the Barrie area.

Kim Viney, who initiated the formation of the consortium says, with a collective effort from our group, we see a more focused emphasis presenting the health benefits of the winter experience and attracting new outdoor enthusiasts to the Barrie area.

A co-ordinated marketing effort will be focused on Southern Ontario, and primarily the Greater Toronto Region.

Viney adds, it will be our goal to exceed one million visitors to the Barrie Snow Belt resorts for the 2003-2004 season.

The barriesnowbelt.com web site is active and being continually updated.

Janron Communications Ltd. & 400 Eleven Marketing specialize in promoting tourism north of Toronto and are assisting with the development and operation of the new service.
