Estes Park, Colorado
 February 2001 Estes Valley
Resorts, the owners of Aspen Lodge at Estes, have announced that as
of January 2001, the resort has focused its attention on group visitors,
taking reservations only for meetings, retreats, conferences, and weddings
during the off-season.
This will take effect from January 2 through May 10, 2001. The plan will allow groups more privacy and access to the entire property. Individuals and small parties will be catered to at Aspen Lodge's sister properties, Lake Shore Lodge and Lake Estes Inn & Suites. We have found that many of our groups are looking for the run of the property, making Aspen Lodge a unique private location for their stays with us, said Bob Horner, Director of Operations and Marketing for Estes Valley Resorts. Since we are so busy during the summer and fall, the only time of year we can offer such an experience is in the off season. It's an experiment that we believe will have rewarding results for our guests as we will be able to customize our facilities and services to truly meet their group needs. It should be noted that the restaurant and bar at Aspen Lodge will only be open to group guests of Aspen Lodge. From January 2 to May 10, 2001, the restaurant and bar will not be accessible to walk-in guests, except for advertised special events. Aspen Lodge in Estes Park is located on Peak to Peak Highway 7, eight miles south of Estes Park. The resort is comprised of 23 cabins and 36 rooms in one of the largest log structures in Colorado. Banquet facilities allow for up to 175 people in the Longs Peak room, while adjacent meeting rooms can handle up to 40 people. With front-door access to Rocky Mountain National Park, Roosevelt National Forest, Aspen Lodge offers a variety of outdoor activities including horseback riding, mountain biking, snowshoeing and ice skating. Because of these amenities, its close proximity to the Front Range and DIA, and its 50-year tradition of western hospitality, Aspen Lodge at Estes Park has become a favorite business retreat in the winter and family vacation destination in the summer. Aspen Lodge is a property of Estes Valley Resorts, based in Estes Park, Colorado. Estes Valley Resorts is owned by long-time Estes Park residents Ola and Mickey Stanger, their son Andrew Stanger, and daughter Sharon Seeley.
