� Hotel & Restaurant Management Program � Alexandria, MN
The comprehensive curriculum includes courses in Accounting, Food and Beverage Controls and Management, Lodging Management, Marketing, Sanitation, Supervision, and a capstone course in Business Development. An internship in each year of the program allows students to apply their classroom work to an industry setting. Upon graduation, students are successfully entering the job market with a broad base of hospitality education along with a general education component. Students may also transfer to a 4-year institution. Courses are also offered at satellite locations. The two instructors have over 50 years of combined industry experience and provide excellent instruction. Strong department and administrative support back the program. Several industry leaders serve on the HRM Program Advisory Board, keeping the program curriculum current. The program is partnered with the Educational Foundation of the National Restaurant Association, offering Sanitation and Bar/Beverage Management certification. The Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Motel Association also provides certification opportunities. Alexandria is situated in the heart of the Central Minnesota resort area, with 50 lakes in a 20 mile radius. The population of the area exceeds 20,000 and is 60 minutes from St. Cloud, 90 minutes from Fargo, and two hours from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metropolitan area.
