Washington, DC April
2006 On the heels of a successful year including major industry wins
in the recently passed highway bill and the largest and most successful
annual Bus Marketplace show to date, the American
Bus Association is announcing promotions and new hires in several key
staff positions.

At ABA, Littler will play a key role in helping members understand the long list of sometimes confusing federal regulations, laws and requirements. Eric Braendel returns to ABA as the Chief Financial Officer after two years at McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, a leading national CPA firm with 100 offices nationwide. There, Braendel dealt with non-profit organizations. Brandon Buchanan has been promoted to Manager of Special Projects and Assistant to the President. Among many other issues, Buchanans current focus at ABA includes member-related issues such as security, rural funding, transit competition and emissions testing. Roderick Lewis, formerly Regional Ad Manager at ABAs Destinations Magazine has been promoted to Manager, Marketing, Membership and Partnership Development. In his new position, Lewis is recruiting new members, working on membership retention and developing strategies that ensure the Associations continued growth. I am thrilled about this great team. Working with this team, we are all committed to continue to move forward developing new and effective programs and services that benefit members in a way that we believe will yield impressive results for motorcoach and group travel for years to come, said Peter J. Pantuso, President and CEO, American Bus Association. Pantuso added that on the government affairs front, our team is hard at work seeking full and fair implementation of the hard-fought legislative victories our industry attained in the recent highway bill while, at the same time, working with our members to lay the groundwork for the next bill. Other issues of importance for ABA and its team include unfair competition, the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative and other passport issues, security, and much more. Finally, ABA is also welcoming to its staff Daniel Hoff as ABA Foundation Coordinator and Policy Analyst. Dan comes to ABA from his current position as a Legislative Director in the Maryland General Assembly. Prior to that, Dan worked with the Baltimore City Council and the Baltimore Mayors Office. These promotions and
new hires were well-deserved, but it is the entire staff at ABA who provides
great work on behalf of members and the entire industry every day. We have
an incredibly professional and talented group and I am honored to work
with them in support of this vital industry, Pantuso said.
