Barrie, Ontario � September 2005 � The best of Canada�s fall colours and fall touring routes start at Barrie�s 400Eleven interchange 45 minutes north of Toronto, the gateway to Ontario�s Cottage Country.

A series of 12 suggested colour routes provide visitors with options when driving into cottage country and northern Ontario for the annual display of fall colors.

More than 60 getaway mid-week or weekend packages are available at resorts and various resorts, inns, hotels, cottages, lodges, north of Toronto. Overnight getaway packages can be as simple as and bed and breakfast package or inclusive with golf, fall colour cruises, fall harvest dinning, Canadian Thanksgiving dinners, and overnight accommodation. Many day trips can include cruises and nature hikes, fall fairs and studio artist tours.

The majority of overnight fall touring routes (are within a 1-2 hour drive from the junction of Highway 400 and Highway 11. A new heritage train route to Temagami from North Bay will be running during the 2005 fall season with options for plane flights over the expansive coniferous and hardwood forests of Northern Ontario.
