Ontario Maple Madness Drives Southern Ontario Residents North
Barrie, Ontario March 2005 Maple Syrup Madness, a chronic affliction, mixing spring fever with the craving for maple cured bacon, maple syrup snow taffy, and maple butter will create a mass exodus from the south along the Highway 400 and Highway 11 corridors during the Month of April.

A number of resort destinations have reacted to this unusual Canadian affiliation, states Rita Talbot, spokesperson for the popular Ontario travel website, www.400eleven.com.

Talbot adds, We have identified a dozen maple syrup festivals north of Toronto, from Elmvale to Haliburton, and several accommodation properties north of Toronto have included a Maple Experience in their packages.

Harbour View Inn in Barrie has included a Sugar Bush tour, the Portage Inn near Huntsville, is serving an all-Canadian favorite of hot blueberry pancakes drizzled with local maple syrup, and the Goddess weekend package at Hummingbird Hill in North Bay includes a sugaring exfoliation spa treatment.

April is the start to spring holidays and vacation time in Ontario. 400 Eleven provides great value at many resort destinations. More than 50 spring getaway packages are available. In addition to the maple experience packages, spring golf getaways, fishing getaways, romantic getaways, spa getaways and Victoria Day Weekend getaways are offered as well as Spring events.
