Facilities Management seeks to hire an Assistant Director and two Managers for Housekeeping Services. The Housekeeping Services staff of 150 employees is responsible for cleaning approx. 126 academic and administrative buildings (7 million sq. ft.) which includes nearly 300 classrooms and 42 lecture halls.The Assistant Director will provide overall leadership and oversight of all Housekeeping Services activities; the Manager/Administration and the Manager/Operations, under the general direction of the assistant director, will be responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, and oversight of administrative functions related to employee management (Admin. Mgr.) and operational functions and contract administration of the unit (Ops. Mgr.).
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants for these positions should have expert knowledge in the building maintenance/custodial fields, and experience directing, planning, and organizing work crews. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent customer service skills, and be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Familiarity with basic computer programs, including software related to timekeeping, work orders, and employee evaluations is desired. These positions are Essential, subject to a 24 hour day, 7 day week span of operation. All positions require a valid driver�s license with fewer than 6 pts.
- Assistant Director: Bachelor�s degree in Business Management or a related field; 10 years of progressively responsible experience in custodial and business management, at least five of which were in a position of leadership.
- Managers: High School Diploma or Equivalent; 5 years experience in housekeeping supervision. The Manager/Administration requires English/Spanish bilingual capability; for the Manager/Operations, ability to speak Spanish is desired.
Salary/Benefits
UM offers a competitive benefits package. Salary is commensurate with qualifications/experience; manager positions up to the low $50�s; assistant director up to low $70�s.Application Process
