University of North Texas – Hospitality Management – Denton, TX

University of North Texas’ Hospitality Management program prepares students for management positions within the hospitality industry. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration, meaning it has passed strict academic standards for excellence in education. The Hospitality Management program offers a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Science (MS) degree, and a MS/MBA degree. Our graduates gain the prestige of a high-quality university education with a solid academic background and extensive training in all hospitality business skills, using the best modern technology. The hospitality management curriculum emphasizes professionalism.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex provides excellent networking and internship opportunities with top professionals and organizations in the hospitality industry. Alumni of UNT’s hospitality management program work for companies such as Brinker International, ClubCorp, Six Continents Hotels and Resorts, Hilton Hotels Corp., the Marriott Corp., On the Border and T.G.I. Friday’s, Four Seasons Hotel, the Mansion on Turtle Creek, Pappas Restaurants, and many more.

Students learn about the industry in hands-on, specialized locations such as The Club at the Gateway Center, the student-operated restaurant on the UNT campus. Undergraduate students are required to complete an internship in their field of study. Hotel and restaurant companies throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex and in other locations regularly provide paid internships through the school.

In addition, students attend lectures and meet with executives in the hospitality field through UNT’s executive-in-residence program. Members of the hospitality industry help shape the degree programs and contribute thousands of dollars each year to scholarships for hospitality management students. The program includes an endowed faculty position, the Dedman Chair in Club Management, which is sponsored by ClubCorp.
