Syracuse,
NY – May 2013 / Hospitality 1ST / Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has
announced that Luke Bryan, recent winner of the Academy of Country Music’s
top honor, Entertainer of the Year, will be among several top entertainers
to perform at the 2013 Great New York
State Fair this summer. Today’s announcement comes on the heels of
the Governor’s successful Tourism Summit that focused on bringing more
tourists to upstate New York. Bryan will perform Thursday, August 29, with
opening act Thompson Square.
“On the heels of New York’s
first Tourism Summit, we are pleased to announce this year’s exciting lineup
for one of our state’s premier tourist attractions: the Great New York
State Fair. This lineup of world-class performers – headlined by America’s
number one Country Music singer Luke Bryan – is one more reason for all
New Yorkers to make a trip to Central New York this summer and experience
all our renowned State Fair has to offer.” Governor Cuomo said.

Ticket sales for Reba and
Carly Rae Jepsen are ongoing. Tickets for Jeff Dunham will go on sale beginning
at 9 a.m. Friday, May 17. Tickets for Toby Keith go on sale beginning at
9 a.m. Saturday, May 25. Tickets for Lynyrd Skynyrd go on sale at 9 a.m.,
Friday, May 31. Tickets for Luke Bryan go on sale beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday,
June 1. Tickets for all shows are available at the State Fair Box Office
or on etix.com,
the Fair’s official and only online Grandstand show ticket seller. Ticket
prices for Luke Bryan are $70, $60 and $50.
“Luke Bryan, along with the
performers we’re announcing today and the acts we have yet to announce,
helps us keep our promise to make the Grandstand grand this year,” said
Darrel Aubertine, Commissioner of the New York State Department of Agriculture
and Markets. “This year’s Fair will offer something for everybody – strong
national acts, an emphasis on agriculture in New York as a huge economic
driver, and entertainment at every turn. Fair season is right around the
corner and it can’t get here soon enough for me.”
The Grandstand music series
runs from August 22 – 31. Two motorsports-related events set for September
1 and 2 will be announced at a later time.
The home of the Great New
York State Fair is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates
