MiraCosta College – Hospitality, Restaurant, Travel & Tourism Programs – Oceanside, CA

MiraCosta College is located in San Diego’s beautiful north county, one of the nation’s premier destinations for fine hotel, restaurant, convention, and tourist attractions. The hospitality and restaurant programs feature curriculum endorsed by national industry associations. Program offerings include the following:

  • A.A. degree in Hospitality Management – 60 units
  • A.A. degree in Restaurant Management – 60 units
  • Hospitality Management Certificate – 30 units
  • Restaurant Management Certificate – 30 units
  • Travel and Tourism Management Certificate – 26 units
  • Food Service Operations Certificate – 17 units
  • Rooms Division Management Certificate – 16 units
  • Catering Operations Certificate – 16 units
  • Travel Reservations Certificate – 11 units
  • Front Office Operations Certificate – 8 units
Tuition is $26 per unit for California residents and $151 per unit for out-of-state residents.

The program caters to students with varying goals. Those seeking immediate employment can earn a certificate and receive comprehensive support in obtaining internships or conducting a job search from MiraCosta’s Center for Career Studies and Services. Those interested in training beyond the A.A. degree are eligible to transfer to a number of public and private four-year universities in California or Nevada or to Les Roches - Swiss Hotel Association School of Hotel Management. Les Roches offers an option to attend for one year to receive the Swiss Hotel Association Diploma or for two years to receive a Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospitality. MiraCosta is the only college in the western part of the United States to have an agreement with Les Roches.

MiraCosta College also offers a strong Meeting and Events Planning Certificate Program through Community Services and Business Development, the not-for-credit Extended Studies area of the college. The program consists of six core classes and two electives for a total of 48 hours of interactive instruction.
