Family-Owned Property Taps New Sources of Revenue
Woodward’s Resort Sees Bookings Jump in Second Half of 2009
Pasadena, CA – January 2010 – LeisureLink, Inc., the leading distribution and revenue management platform for specialty lodging suppliers, today highlighted the success of New Hampshire-based client Woodward’s Resort. In the second half of 2009, the family-owned property launched a major online marketing effort which produced a substantial increase in revenues in spite of the difficult economy.

The Resort’s online efforts have two major components which address both returning guests and new customer acquisition. Repeat visitors can now book on the Woodward’s Resort website, via the site’s booking engine. “This allows returning guests to book easily at their convenience, while saving front desk overhead,” said Jeff Woodward of Woodward’s Resort. “Guests can book at any time of day or night and this also frees our staff to devote more time to the guests at the property,” he added.

To attract new guests, Woodward’s is also listed on major online sites such as Orbitz and Travelocity, as well as on all major GDS channels. “We have brought in many wonderful new guests from online sites and travel agents, and have been excited to get them acquainted with our resort,” said Jeff Woodward. “To keep our repeat business strong, we recognize that we need to bring in a steady stream of new guests and the online channels are the perfect way to showcase our resort to the millions of people turning to the Web to book vacation accommodations. It is both more effective and less risky than traditional advertising or other promotional tactics which require an up-front, out-of-pocket budget.”

“We are particularly pleased with the great placement we have in the online channels. For example, we maintained a top listing on Travelocity for the Lincoln, New Hampshire area. LeisureLink’s close partnership with the Travelocity account manager for our area resulted directly in this great visibility,” said Woodward.

“Woodward’s success in the electronic channels is an amazing testament to their brand and great customer relationships,” said Steve Reich, Senior Vice President of LeisureLink. “Over 80% of the volume of business that we delivered to Woodward’s came from their own website, via the LeisureLink Booking Engine. We also noticed an unusually high volume of bookings coming from travel agents in their region. Both speak to the strength of Woodward’s rich customer base,” said Reich.

“We were able to get our booking engine and online distribution up and running quickly, thanks to the support we received from LeisureLink. We are very pleased with our progress to date, and expect further success in 2010,” said Woodward.
