The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, including the International Institute of Tourism Studies, is a world-renowned institution offering graduate, undergraduate, and certificate programs in sustainable destination management, sport management, event and meeting management, and hospitality management. With over 35 years of experience, our Department is TedQual certified by the United Nations World Tourism Organization.

The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management is truly “at the center of it all.” There is no better place for students to develop careers in tourism; hospitality; sport, event, and meeting management. Washington D.C. is home to many leading international tourism organizations, associations, meetings and events firms, sports teams, and hotel companies. In addition, outstanding, international, for-credit courses, such as “Olympics Games-Behind the Scenes” and “International Consulting Experiences,” are offered as part of the Master of Tourism Administration program.

Our department offers the following flexible and innovative programs: Masters of Tourism Administration (on-campus or distance learning); Bachelor of Business Administration (with a concentration in Sports and Events Management or Hospitality Management); Five-Year BBA/BTA Program; and Event and Tourism Professional Education (Certificate) Programs.
