‘Remedy’ is a focal point of $12 million expansion

Farmington, NY – October 2013 / Hospitality 1ST / The curtain is almost ready to be pulled back on Remedy, a new bar and lounge unlike any in the Finger Lakes region which is slated to open in late October at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack as part of the $12 million expansion currently underway.

Remedy’s modern design will invoke a sophisticated, yet comfortable atmosphere and feature craft cocktails made from fresh ingredients and top-shelf liquors. The Blended Remedy headlines a variety of signature drinks and includes Bacardi Silver Rum, Cherry Herring Liqueur, fresh lime, a simple syrup, and strawberry puree. 23 beers will be featured on tap, both domestic and imported, as well as bottled varieties, and an assortment of wines including sparkling varieties.

With an 18-foot high-definition projection screen, 22 flat screen televisions, and a 324-square foot stage, Remedy will offer a myriad of entertainment. In addition to featuring all of the region’s favorite sporting events on a nightly basis, Remedy will also feature pay-per-view events, comedy, trivia nights with Buzztime and the best in local musical entertainment. Groups such as Brass Taxi, Tommy Brunett and Big Eyed Fish are scheduled within the first month of opening. National acts will also visit on occasion. On Halloween night Rob Base will appear, famous for his multi-platinum hit single, “It Takes Two” and top ten dance single “Joy and Pain”.

“Remedy is a unique and important part of our expansion,” said Chris Riegle, president and general manager of Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack. “It has been purposefully designed to not just be an amenity of the facility, but its own entertainment destination locally.”

The feature bar provides seating for 140 with a maximum capacity of 240. A limited menu will be available with options from Wolfgang Puck Express. Hours of operation will be 10 a.m. – 1 a.m. daily Sunday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturdays. Remedy hour, a happy hour, is slated to run Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. featuring $5 cocktails.

The $12 million expansion represents the largest project at Finger Lakes since the addition of video gaming machines in 2004. The nearly 33,000-square-foot addition will accommodate space for 350 additional machines, bringing the venue’s total to 1,549. An expanded players club, coat check, and back-of-the-house office space will round out the additions.
